On 17 and 18 December 2019, ELVITEN joined the ITS Hellas – the 5th conference on “Intelligent Transport Systems and Developments in Greece” which took place at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport in Athens. The conference attended more than 180 participants across the national and international transport sector, being one of the most relevant events for Hellenic transport sector.
Prominent speakers thoroughly discussed and presented a number of key topics, through several sessions and round table discussions. Key topics concerned, for instance, European and Greek developments/policies and good practices in the field of ITS, ITS for sustainable mobility and Greek excellence and intelligent freight transport. The conference’s objective focused on the challenges and needs of the industry, as well as, the benefits of adopting and extensively implementing Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) to develop efficient solutions for the benefit of both users and the environment. To this end, one of the opening speeches was held by Dr. Angelos Amditis, who is a Vice President of ITS Hellas and responsible for the public sector and the organisation of the conference. He is also ELVITEN project coordinator and ERTICO’s Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
During the conference, a parallel exhibition was held with the participation of leading companies and public actors to demonstrate the latest Greek technological solutions and research activities in the field of ITS. ELVITEN project partner SEAbility attended the event and was one of the conference exhibitors, presenting among other projects the ELVITEN, a H2020-funded project . Visitors and participants had the opportunity to gain more information about the company’s activities in relation to the ELVITEN project and other activities focused on the areas of electro-mobility and automation.
